How We Choose Exhibits

We feature artists and groups of artists with a focus on artists and exhibit the embody elements of our mission at Scarritt Bennett Center.

Mission: To create space where individuals and groups engage each other to achieve a more just world.

This includes a focus on key tenants including women's empowerment, racial justice, transformative education, and spiritual enrichment.

We often host receptions, but this is not guaranteed and is based on our budget availability or if you want to pay for refreshments through our catering services.

When Will I Be Contacted?

Completing this form does not guarantee a response as we vet exhibit requests and try to ensure a diverse showing throughout the year across ages, art mediums, genders, and racial ethnic backgrounds.  It is encouraged that you have a conversation with our Director of Spirituality and Arts before completing the online form, but this is not required.

We book exhibits anywhere from a single month to up to 3 months in length including installation and deinstallation dates. If you get a response to your form submission, you will receive proposed dates and a deadline to accept or decline the invitation. You can request different installation and deinstallation dates and negotiate some of the terms provided.

There has never been a better time to be an artist.

With the rise of social networks, artists have unprecedented opportunities to share their unique visions with a vast audience. You can't afford NOT to be leveraging these social networks for your business.

Don’t miss out on this chance to leverage our platform and prime location in Midtown Nashville, TN USA to elevate your artistic career.

But remember, success requires more than just posting your work online and on a wall. Most (not all) artists and exhibitors that we show in our gallery are expected to:

  • Be self-promoters of their craft and distinctive brand, aiming to stand out on all social media platforms that they use).
  • Be strategic and active, attentive to the best times to post/email your personal connections and page followers. The right audience is the people that know you, love your style, or have similar passions and activity as you.
  • Streamline your presence in person and online to share your exhibit with others in meaningful ways from genuine stories and other social postings of your art and the exhibit to one-to-one conversations and special events such as book signings, workshops, lectures, or other creative efforts.

We want you and your art to thrive whether this is a business or personal passion for you.

Space is limited in the Gallery, but there are many ways to engage and display your works. Even if you don't get a space soon in person, we can feature you online in a virtual gallery. So, sign up now to secure your spot and take your art to the next level!
